Blackjack is a great game that gives you the chance to decide the outcome of your bets. Of course it’s nice to go on a winning streak and hit a few blackjacks along the way. There are many strategies for improving your chances of winning, or rather reducing the house edge for every bet you place on the tables.
Should you take insurance?
You should never take insurance. Even if a blackjack dealer recommends to take insurance if you have a blackjack it’s not worth taking. If insurance was worth taking then why would a casino try to help you make more money? If anybody recommends you take insurance ask them where they got their advice from and see if they know the odds and payouts associated with insurance.
Splitting hands
Some of the worst things you can do are to split certain hands like a pair of fives or a pair of tens. When I see players do this I’m amazed that they ruin perfectly good hands. If you have a pair of 5s either hit or double down if the dealer has 9 or less. If you have a pair of 10s just hold your cards.
